ALI’S CONVICTION OVERTURNED!!!
On this day June 28, 1971 U.S. Supreme court unanimously overturned the Draft evasion conviction of Muhammad Ali.
Muhammad Ali, World Heavyweight Boxing Champion was fined, stripped of his title and had his Boxing licence suspended for 3 years for his refusal and evasion of the 1967 Vietnam war draft.
He used his status as a “Conscientious objector” which holds he cannot participate in any wars with those that dont share the same faith as well as his stance in the Civil Rights Movement.
