SOUTHHAMPTON INSURRECTION
On this day August 21st 1831, 40 years after the Haitian revolution, Under the same Solar Eclipse Preacher and former slave Nat Turner organized a slave rebellion on the white plantation owners in South Hampton county, VA one of if not the first Black insurrections on American soil.
