1ST BLACK STUDENT AT OL’ MISS

On this day October 1st 1962 James Meridith became the first Black student admitted to the university of Mississippi.

After protests from whites against integration got destructive then  President John F Kennedy ordered the national guard to intervene. Protected and escorted by the National guard James Meridith started his journey to a political science degree a year later
